In Farming Simulator 25, rice has been introduced as a new crop, expanding the variety of crops available to players. Let’s learn a bit more about rice in Farming Simulator 25 in this short introduction video above.
There is long grain rice and what we just call “rice”. Here is the difference. After you created a rice paddy, a field deepened for water retention, rice is sown directly in the water. Long grain rice however is planted before you flood the field. They also require different machines to sow and harvest. Also, you can grow your rice samplings in greenhouses yourself.
For regular rice, you’ll need to plant it in flooded paddies using specialized machinery like the Iseki PRJ8D rice transplanter. This equipment is designed for water-managed fields and requires particular attention to water levels. After growing, the rice can be harvested using a specialized harvester like the Iseki HJ6130. Long-grain rice, on the other hand, can be planted using standard seeders and harvested with basic combine harvesters, offering a more familiar farming experience for those used to traditional grains.
The addition of rice brings a new layer of depth, particularly with its unique water management and specialized equipment needs, making it an interesting challenge for virtual farmers.
