Cobey can trace its lineage back to the late 1800s when founder Harry Cobey began manufacturing farm equipment at Galion, Ohio. Cobey sold their manure spreaders, and chopper boxes to Ford, when they made their “Big Blue” line. In 1965, Perfection Steel Body and Cobey Corp. (which included the farm equipment line) was sold to Harsco Corporation. We don’t really have a date when they stopped production, but it seems like it would be somewhere around the 70’s? Would love to hear if anyone knows more!
